We support member organizations in implementing joint activities and improving service delivery based on identified gaps. Our efforts include conducting Training Needs Assessments (TNA), organizing capacity-building sessions, strengthening resource mobilization skills, and improving governance.
Policy Influence & Advocacy on Agroecological Practices
NECOFA advocates for policies that promote agroecological practices, aiming to improve food and nutritional security and environmental conservation. We recognize the shortcomings of conventional agricultural policies and strive to engage the public through media, awareness campaigns, and partnerships to influence better policy outcomes.
Agro-enterprise and Market Development
Our goal is to enhance household incomes among smallholder farmers by promoting agro-ecological enterprises and improving market access. NECOFA emphasizes organic farming practices, value addition, and effective marketing strategies to ensure sustainable livelihoods and increased incomes for farmers.
Climate Change Resilience and Natural Resource Management
NECOFA is committed to building the resilience of smallholder farmers to climate change and natural disasters. We promote agroecology as a means of adaptation and raise awareness about climate change impacts. Our initiatives include natural resource management, disaster preparedness, soil and water conservation, and diversification of agro-enterprises.
Women and Youth Inclusion in Agroecology
NECOFA aims to increase the involvement of women and youth in agroecology. Women, who make up a significant portion of the agricultural labor force, play a crucial role in sustainable development. By empowering women and youth through training and leadership opportunities, we ensure the sustainability and success of agroecological practices.
